Duafort, the Canexel replacer
Profex Duafort is a specially developed plastic wall cladding system with a durable character. Profex Duafort is only made of plastic and therefore it does not result in the problems that are typical of Canexel such as wood rot on your caravan or chalet. All Duafort panels have a natural wood look and a scratch- and impact-resistant top layer and therefore damage is very unlikely.
Replacing Canexel
Canexel is a wall cladding system based on compressed wood fibres with a coat. In most cases, Canexel will start to rot in the long term. Unfortunately, these rotten spots in Canexel cannot be repaired. Painting them is a temporary solution because moisture is already present in the compressed wood fibre. The rotting process may even speed up if painted.
Our solution for wood rot
Canexel can easily be replaced by Profex Duafort because this product has the same thickness and can be replaced behind the casing. If a thicker wall cladding is applied, the casings must be moved forwards or auxiliary profiles must be used around the casings with the possibility that they will no longer be watertight.
